We have fantastic news to share: Het Kook Atelier is ranked in the top 100 of the We’re Smart Green Guide! And not just anywhere: we’re at number 77, among the best plant-based restaurants in the world. As if that weren’t enough, we’re also nominated for the title of ‘Best Discovery NL.’ Along with Restaurant De Kas and De Tuinkamer van Priona, we’re in the running for this prestigious award, which will be presented next Tuesday in Valencia.
The We’re Smart Green Guide is the guide for those interested in sustainable gastronomy and plant-based dining. Each year, it evaluates restaurants worldwide based on creativity, use of local seasonal products, and innovative sustainability. In recent years, the Netherlands has made a strong impression in this guide. Last year, restaurants such as De Nieuwe Winkel (number 1), De Kas, Basiliek, and Triptyque were among the top 100. This year, we are proud to join this group.
A Step Forward
Het Kook Atelier is now listed in the guide for the second year, and we’ve advanced from 4 to 5 radishes—the highest rating a restaurant can achieve within this platform. In the guide’s description of our restaurant, they write that we "create a perfect balance between nature and innovation.” That means a lot to us: it confirms that our work, which centers on nature and our island, does not go unnoticed.

Regardless of the outcome, we are especially grateful for all the support and for this amazing spot in the guide. This milestone is something we’ve achieved together with our team and our guests.
